Nickel (Ni) Crucible

Product Nickel (Ni) Crucible
Part Number Ni05
Purity up to 99.5% min
Density 8.9 g/cm3
CAS# 7440-02-0

Nickel (Ni) Crucible is used for burning solid matter, and it is a container for melting and refining liquid metal, as well as solid-liquid heating and reaction. The melting point of nickel is 1455°C, and nickel has strong alkaline resistance and corrosion resistance. Therefore, nickel crucible is often used to melt ferroalloy, slag, clay, refractory materials, etc.

NCE can provide the Nickel Crucibles with the purity up to 99.5% min. Various Dimesions and Volumes are avaible on request.

NCE can also provide the Crucible Holders (6 holes type or 4 holes type) on request.

Features and Precautions for Use

  1. Applicable temperature: the melting temperature of Nickel Crucible should not exceed 700°C, because nickel is easy to be oxidized in high temperature.
  2. Nickel crucible cannot be used for the burning of precipitation.
  3. The nickel crucible is suitable for NaOH, Na2O, Na2CO3, NaHCO3 and alkali solvent melting samples containing KNO3, and not suitable for KHSO4 or NaHSO4, K2S2O7 or Na2S2O and alkali sulfide melting samples containing sulfur.
  4. Molten metal salts such as AI, Zn, Pb, Sn, Hg can make the Nickel Crucible brittle. Borax also cannot be melted in a nickel crucible.
  5. Nickel Crucible often contains trace chromium, which should be paid attention to in use.
  6. The New Nickel Crucible should be burned into blue and purple in muffle furnace first to remove the oil stain on the surface, then boiled with 1:20 HCI for a while, and washed with water.
  7. Before using, boiled with the water and added a few HCl if required, and washed with distilled water each time.
