Typical application:

1. Lanthanum metal shell is used to produce Ni-MH battery, which is one of the most important applications of lanthanum.
2. It is mainly used for manufacturing special alloys, precision optical glass, high refractivity optical fiber board. It is suitable for making camera, microscope lens and advanced optical instrument prism, etc. In addition, it is used for ceramic capacitors, piezoelectric ceramic admixtures and lanthanum bromide powder.
3. Lanthanum is also used as a catalyst for various reactions. Lanthanum oxide impregnated with lithium oxide or zirconia (1%) can be used to make ferrite magnets.
4. It is used to improve the temperature dependence and dielectric properties of barium titanate (BaTiO₃) and strontium titanate (SrTiO₃) ferroelectrics, and to manufacture fiber optic devices and optical glasses.
