About Cobalt Tantalum Zirconium Alloy Sputtering Target (Co-Ta-Zr Target)

Cobalt Tantalum Zirconium Alloy Target (Co-Ta-Zr Target) produced by NCE is the key thin film material of vertical magnetic recording material. The typical content is Cobalt Tantalum Zirconium (90:5:5 at%).

Magnetic recording material is a kind of magnetic material which uses magnetic properties and magnetic effects to input (write), record, store and output (read out) sound, image, digital and other information. It is divided into magnetic recording medium material and magnetic head material. The former mainly completes the function of recording and storing information, while the latter mainly completes the function of writing and reading information. In physics, these products are called magnetic recording media. In the consumption structure of these products, audio tapes account for the largest proportion. Magnetic recording has the characteristics of high recording density, stable and reliable, reusable, variable time reference, wide frequency range, and high speed of information writing and reading. It is widely used in radio, film, television, education, medical treatment, automatic control, geological exploration, electronic computing technology, military, aerospace, and daily life.

There are 3 recording forms of magnetic recording materials: 1) Longitudinal magnetic recording materials. The magnetization direction of signals recorded on the surface of magnetic layer is consistent with the movement direction of recording materials, such as recording tapes. 2) Transverse magnetic recording materials. The magnetization direction of the signal recorded on the surface of the magnetic layer is perpendicular or nearly perpendicular to the movement direction of the recording material, such as video tape. 3) Vertical magnetic recording material. The magnetization direction of signal recorded on the surface of magnetic layer is perpendicular to the surface of recording material, such as magnetic disc, etc.
